Dr R Nagaraja currently working as professor and head, department of computer science and engineering at AMC College of Engineering has rich experience in both academics, administrative and research fields. He has 34 years of academic experience 9 years of research experience and 20 years of IT employee training experience. Published around 40 papers in reputed international journals and 5 PhD scholars are working and three have submitted the PhD thesis. He worked as academic consultant for BITS IT programs and was software consultant for KIMS’s hospital computerization. He has built start of art infrastructure for information science and engineering department of BIT as well as for the entire college (campus wide networking). He is working as LIC member under VTU and as BOS, BOE in autonomous colleges under VTU.

Computer Science and Engineering serves as the foundation for various technological advancements that the world requires today. The field has grown by leaps and bounds. The future innovations that it brings along never seem to slow down. Yet another beauty of computer science and engineering is that it finds a place in many interdisciplinary fields as well. It is necessity to keep up to the global demand of finding highly skilled engineers and scientists. AMC Engineering College, one of the best technical institution in India drives on the purpose of providing quality education, employment and entrepreneurship and improving competence among students. We the Department of Computer Science and Engineering align our goals towards the same and expert engineers produced by us stand testimony to it.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the year 1999, offering under graduate programs in computer science and engineering, CSE-Data Science, CSE-AIML and post graduate program in computer science and engineering with the annual intake of 240, 60, 60 and 18 students respectively. The laboratories of the department are well equipped with latest branded computers and other facilities, to fully satisfy the training needs of the students. A pre-placement training program and add-on courses (over and above the syllabi) from tie ups and MOUs with industries is in place and accommodated along with the class work from second year onwards. The department is qualitatively standardized with NBA Accreditation.
College of Engineering, AMC has always asserted to take education beyond the four walls so that students understand the reality of the technical world. The Department imparts world class training and platform for research to the students. The department provides state-of-the-art computing facilities to the students enabling them to stay a step ahead. They are exposed to various opportunities such as inplant training, internships, projects and workshops during their course of study. The department also hosts a number of workshops and student managed symposiums.
The Department has eight State-of-the-Art Computer Laboratories each with 35 of high end configuration and Wifi connectivity. The department boasts of having 5 servers of IBM and HP Servers. The department has an exclusive lab for IOT to enable students learn and do their projects.
The department also encourages innovative projects and quality research in various interrelated domains. The department is involved in major research on which faculty members and students work on several areas such as Networks, Database, Theoretical Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Mining, Big Data, Machine Learning and Internet of Things.
